Another article claims that Charlie "Atong" Ang owns the well-financed Meridien Vista Gaming Corporation (MVGC).

In whatever way you see it, these facts cannot be reconciled. One cannot be heavily indebted and bankrupt while at the same time be able to financed the operation of a corporation as big as Meridien Vista Gaming Corporation (MVGC).

This is yet another attempt to put Charlie "Atong" Ang on hot seat by way of trial-by-publicity.

For one, a corporation has a separate juridical personality of its own, independent from that of its shareholders and directors. As such, it has the capacity to own assets separate and distinct from that of its own shareholders and directors. It has the capacity to sue and be sued.

Hence, even if you sit as a CEO of that corporation, you cannot claim as your own the assets of that corporation, even given the fact that the corporation has grown tremendously because of your unique, effective and proven style of management. You cannot even claim as your own the vehicle you use for as long as it is registered under the name of the corporation.

Ergo, there is no truth to the allegations that Charlie "Atong" Ang owns the Meridien Vista Gaming Corporation. That allegation is a departure from the Corporation Law.
